Mar. 10th, 2009 11:55 amIt's about four days after Jonathan's first vision when the message, written in both English and the spiky Rrhay characters, is delivered to their door by a prepubescent boy wearing the livery of House Varadeem. It's an invitation of sorts, albeit worded with such unconscious arrogance as to sound more like a command; stripped of the flowery wording, it's a request/order for Angel and his warriors to attend upon Lord Vayan at a celebration this coming weekend as part of his personal guard.
It's very much not their usual line of work, and there's a good deal of discussion as to whether or not to take it. Two things tip the balance: the reminder of the fact that the Powers that Be pointed them to Vayan in the first place, and the casual mention in the missive of the whereabouts of the party. It's at a very private and exclusive club, whose name isn't given.
An exclusive club frequented by demon nobility, Jonathan points out, sounds an awful lot like something they've heard about before.
Time to do a little legwork.
It's been a while since Andrew's been back to Redleaf. He's on his own this time, and hoping the shifts haven't changed and Fitz is still working the bar.
